Cat admission for an Anaesthetic

Pre-anaesthetic examination

A premedication is administered to the cat consisting of a sedative, antibiotic and painkiller

The cat is restrained whilst an intravenous cannula is placed into the right leg |
The intravenous cannula is placed and taped in place. The cat is anaesthetised via an intravenous injection

Local anaesthetic is sprayed to the back of the throat prior to intubation
|
An endotracheal tube is inserted into the trachea to supply anaesthetic gases/oxygen
|

The cat is connected to the anaesthetic machine and is monitored
|
